Lie Detector Test Oxford & Oxfordshire

    Certainty, Properly Examined

By the time people find this page, they have usually been turning the same question over for months. A polygraph test ends it: one issue, examined properly, with a written answer within 24 hours. That includes proving your own innocence, not only testing someone else. Our Oxford office is at Oxford Science Park in Littlemore, off the southern ring road, with parking onsite.

    Single-Issue Testing for Accurate Results

    Relationship Test

    from £449

A suspicion does not fade because you decide to stop thinking about it. It waits. A relationship test takes the issue you cannot put down, examines it under controlled conditions on questions agreed with you first, and gives you a clear written result within 24 hours. Whichever way it falls, the wondering stops.

    Couples Test

    from £695

When both of you have something to prove, a couples booking tests each partner separately on the same issue, on the same day, and shares both results with you both. Some couples find that agreeing to book is the first honest conversation they have had in months.

    Pre-Employment Screening

    from £549

References confirm what a candidate chose to disclose. For roles built on trust, cash handling, care work, access to keys or data, a voluntary integrity screening covers what they did not. Employers use it before an offer, when it is still simple to walk away.

    Book Now

    Theft Investigation

    from £499

Missing money or stock puts a whole team under the same cloud, and the longer it hangs there the more damage it does. Single issue testing clears people one at a time until what remains is clear. In practice, the staff with nothing to hide usually ask to go first.

    Booked means booked

There are two ways to book a lie detector test in the UK. They are not the same.

    Most polygraph websites

    • 1Pay a deposit, often non-refundable
    • 2Fill in a form with your preferred dates
    • 3Wait for a call, typically 3 to 5 days out
    • 4Card only, then an examiner is found and a venue arranged
    Booking here
    • See the actual calendar with real free slots
    • Pay in full, or secure eligible dates with a deposit
    • Spread the cost with Klarna at checkout
    • Confirmed the moment payment completes
    • A private room at our Oxford office, reserved for your test

A deposit here is not a fee to join a queue. It confirms a real appointment at a real time, instantly. To our knowledge, no other UK polygraph service offers instant confirmed booking or takes Klarna.

Evenings, weekends, or unable to travel?

If you require an evening or weekend test, our home visit service brings the same examiners, the same instruments and the same instant online booking to your own home, seven days a week with the last examination starting at 8pm. Enter your postcode to see real visit times for your address.

    Your Examiner

Professional polygraph and lie detector testing facility in Oxford

A note from your examiners: you will not find our names or faces on this website, and that is deliberate. The nature of this work means examiners here stay anonymous, and the same discretion that protects us is what protects every client we test. What we can tell you is that we are trained to police standards in interviewing, and that the words clients use most about their examinations are rarely the ones they expected to use.

"You are very calming." "Thank you so much for putting me at ease." Said to us by recent clients, during and after their examinations.

Every examination at John Eccles House is conducted by an examiner trained to police standards in interviewing before qualifying in polygraph. That background shows in the pre-test interview: patient, precise questioning, and no judgement whatever the subject.

Polygraph is unregulated in the UK, so the standard an examiner works to is a choice. Ours is the American Polygraph Association's: validated question techniques, continuing education every year, and scoring that is quality assured rather than left to instinct.

All examiners hold current Enhanced DBS checks.

Choosing a Legitimate Lie Detector Examiner

Nobody licenses polygraph examiners in the UK. The equipment can be bought by anyone and a certificate can be printed at home. So before you book with anybody, including us, look for these warning signs:

    Red Flags to Avoid

    • ✕No physical charts or data provided with results
    • ✕Home tests with no screening of the room or conditions
    • ✕Prices far below the going rate
    • ✕A result promised before the test has been run
    • ✕Multiple issues tested in one session
    • ✕No formal pre-test interview
    • ✕Unwillingness to explain the process
    • ✕No verifiable training or experience

    What We Provide

    • Comprehensive report with the physiological charts
    • A private, solid-walled meeting room at Oxford Science Park, booked for your test
    • Computerised polygraph equipment
    • Single issue testing for the highest accuracy
    • American Polygraph Association protocols followed
    • The process explained in full, before you book and on the day
    • Verifiable training and qualifications
    • An unhurried examination, with appointments staggered so you never meet another client

The charts from your examination come to you with the report. Heart rate, blood pressure, breathing and skin response: the actual traces your result was scored from. An examiner who cannot show you charts either has no proper instrument, no proper training, or neither.

    Where our clients travel from

Every examination takes place at our Oxford office at Oxford Science Park, off the southern ring road. These are the towns around Oxford we have written directions for, and how to reach us from each.

    How It Works

    1

    Booking

Choose the service you need, pick a slot from live availability and pay online to confirm it. Your confirmation arrives straight away with preparation notes, the full address of John Eccles House at Oxford Science Park and where to park.

    2

    Pre-Test Interview

The first part of the appointment is a conversation. You and your examiner go through the issue, then agree the exact wording of every question the examination will ask. Nothing is asked on the day that you have not already read and approved.

    3

    The Examination

The whole appointment takes around 90 minutes, so allow two hours. During the examination itself, sensors record your breathing, cardiovascular activity and skin response while you answer the agreed questions. There are no surprises and no trick questions.

    4

    Results

Before you leave you are told the preliminary result. Within 24 hours the written report follows by email, with the recorded charts and the examiner's analysis explained in plain English.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to the most common questions about polygraph testing

Probably not. People who reach this page have usually been living with the question for a long while before they type it into a search box. Booking a test is not an accusation and it is not a verdict. It is a decision to stop guessing. The common regret is not having booked, it is the months spent deciding whether to.

A short LPI reference and nothing else. The words polygraph, lie detector and Oxford do not appear anywhere on the transaction, so anyone who sees your statement learns nothing from it.

Then no test takes place. We only examine volunteers, and written consent is checked before anything begins, so nobody can be booked in against their will. What the offer does is tell you something either way. A willing yes says one thing. A flat refusal says another. You learn more than you knew, and it costs nothing to find out.

A single issue test, properly run, sits between 90 and 98 percent decision accuracy. What decides where in that range you land is not luck: the examiner's training, the instrument, the room and the question technique. Check all four before you book with anyone.

No. Everybody arrives nervous, and the scoring does not measure how nervous you are. It compares your responses to different types of question against each other. A truthful person who is shaking and a truthful person who is calm produce the same result.

A single issue test at our Oxford office is from £449, paid online when you book. Couples tests are from £695, theft investigations from £499 and pre-employment screening from £549. Each price covers the pre-test interview, the examination at John Eccles House and the written report with charts.

No. If your appointment is more than three days away you can secure it with a £149 deposit, and the balance is collected automatically from the same card two days before your test. Nothing to remember and nothing to pay on the day. The deposit is non-refundable, because it holds that appointment for you alone. If you would rather pay in full, you can, including in three instalments with Klarna.
